The short answer

You cannot legally buy a CVV online. The CVV is a security code printed on a payment card. It exists to prove the person entering card details has the physical card. Any shop that claims to sell CVVs is selling stolen data, and that is a crime in the US and most other countries. I won't walk you through how to do it because there is no safe or legal version of that transaction.

What a CVV actually does

Card issuers use the CVV to catch fraud. When you pay online, the merchant sends the CVV to the issuer for verification. If the code does not match, the charge usually fails. That single check makes stolen card numbers much harder to use. It also means a CVV shop cannot deliver a working code on demand. The data is either outdated, fake, or tied to a card that will be canceled as soon as the real owner notices.

Why these shops are scams

  • They take payment in crypto and disappear.
  • They sell the same card data to many buyers.
  • They show fake test results and fake reviews.
  • They use chat apps to avoid traces.

The pattern is old. A seller offers card data at a low price. You pay. You get a file. The file fails. The seller blames you or the merchant. Then the seller stops answering. Even if one card works, the issuer will reverse the charge and the merchant will report the fraud.

The legal risk is real

Buying stolen card data is fraud, not a gray area. Federal prosecutors charge these cases under identity theft and access device statutes. A conviction can mean prison, fines, and a permanent record. Banks also close accounts and flag your identity. The few dollars you save are not worth that exposure.

What to do instead

If you need to pay online, use a virtual card from your bank or a reputable payment service. Keep your own CVV private. Never share it in chat, email, or a form that did not come from a merchant you trust. If someone offers to sell you a CVV, report the account to the platform and move on.
